Spring Hooks
One of the most common and frequently used tools in the repair and maintenance of adding machines was the spring hook. The spring hooks came in two versions - a pull hook and a push hook. They allowed the Field Engineer to install or remove springs, sometimes in very difficult to reach areas of the machine. With thousands of springs used in the construction and operation of the mechanical parts in the adding machine, a special tool to manipulate the springs was critical.
The Burroughs spring hooks that were in use in the 1960s are available and can be purchased here. They are absolutely the same spring hooks used by the Burroughs Field Engineers and are available for a limited time described below.
